In my PhD-thesis I will focus on the electrophysiological and morphological analysis of translaminar and transcolumnar synaptic connections between neurons in output layers of the rat somatosensory cortex. For this I will use electrophysiological methods like whole cell patch clamp, paired recordings and the caged-glutamate-photolysis.
