Radboud University > FC Donders Centre > Postdoc Kotter Print - Sitemap Tenure-track post-doc position at the Radboud University Nijmegen The newly formed Chair in Neurophysiology and Neuroinformatics invites applications for a Tenure-track post-doc position in the group of Rolf Kötter at Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands Job description The overall mission of the group is to study the biological conditions of neuronal population dynamics aiming to bridge the gaps between single cell electrophysiology and large-scale brain activity. Experimentally, we will expand the combination of intracellular recordings and flash photolysis of caged glutamate in brain slices with multielectrode recordings. Computationally, we will simulate the behaviour of neuron populations within and across brain regions drawing upon our extensive neuroinformatics databases (CoCoDat, CoCoMac). Requirements We are looking for an experienced post-doc with a background in large-scale network modelling, connectivity analysis and dynamical systems theory to advance the computational side in close collaboration with the experimental work in the group and with nearby groups performing, e.g., awake monkey recordings and non-invasive brain imaging (F.C. Donders Centre). Conditions of employment The position is available now for initially 5 years with subsequent permanent employment according to Dutch labour law depending on positive evaluation. The salary will be according to qualification and experience. Interviews will be conducted until the position is filled. Nijmegen is a lively university city situated near the Dutch/German border on a branch of the river Rhine. Radboud University is a private internationally oriented university with almost 18,000 students and a full range of academic disciplines (http://www.ru.nl/english/general/facts_amp_figures/). The neuroscience sector is rapidly expanding and has world class institutes in cognitive and molecular neurosciences. Applications Candidates should send a letter of intention with a full CV and the names of two referees by e-mail to: Prof. Dr. Rolf Kötter, Chair Section Neurophysiology & Neuroinformatics Department of Cognitive Neuroscience (126) University Medical Centre St. Radboud P.O. Through this facility, the collaborating experts will have a continuous training opportunity but will also form a back-up for each other. The postdocs will spend a small part of their time as consultants in other projects.
